Two people were found murdered on a trail at Devil's Den State Park in West Fork, Arkansas, on Saturday afternoon. The Arkansas State Police (ASP) identified the victims as a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. The suspect, described as a white man wearing dark shorts, a dark tank top, and weight-lifting gloves, was seen driving a black, four-door sedan toward a park exit.
The suspect's vehicle may be a Mazda with a license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape. It was possibly traveling on Arkansas 170 or Arkansas 220 near the park. ASP is actively pursuing all leads to apprehend the suspect.
"We are heartbroken by today’s horrific news from Devil’s Den State Park and are in close contact with State Police and the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism as they work to apprehend the suspect," said Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. "We are praying for the family and friends of the victims, and know that law enforcement will not rest until the perpetrator is brought to justice."
Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts to contact ASP Troop L at 479-751-6663.
