Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman's appearance during the Monday Night Football broadcast of the game between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings sparked concern among fans.
Aikman, 58, appeared to have bloodshot eyes while appearing on camera prior to kickoff, which led to viewers questioning whether he was OK.
"Troy Aikman looking like he had a rough one last night #MNF," one X user wrote.
"Is Troy Aikman okay? Look at his eyes,” another user posted.
"What in the world is wrong with Troy Aikman’s eye???" a third user wrote.
"Honestly is Troy Aikman okay? He looks like he’s on the lettuce," another X user posted, along with a photo of Aikman, though another user pointed out that "his eyes are bloodshot every game."
Aikman didn't show any signs of being off his game Monday (December 16) night, though he did experience a comical telestrator error when he was unable to locate Vikings safety Josh Metellus on the field while attempting to highlight him.
“Well, they’re going to bring Metellus, in the middle. Wherever he is, right?” Aikman said during the brief snafu.
Aikman and his longtime play-by-play partner Joe Buck left FOX Sports to join ESPN's Monday Night Football coverage in March 2022. The Vikings defeated the NFC North Division rival Bears, 30-12, to improve their record to 12-2 with three games remaining.
