Why We’re Obsessed With True Crime
September 04, 2018
No matter where you turn these days, there’s a true crime story to ingest. We can’t help ourselves, either. We have to watch or listen to it. In the last 10 years, the genre has exploded so much there are three cable channels devoted to telling the victims’ stories.
The “Serial” podcast, “Making A Murderer,” and “O.J.: Made In America” took our obsession to a whole new level. Why can’t we turn away? Two reasons: curiosity and a need to crush injustices. At least according to true crime author Benjamin Stevenson.
He says we can’t help but be curious. We ask how someone can take another life and watch to try and find the answer. There usually is no answer, though. This is real time, real world stuff. The detective in us wants to dig deeper.
Then there is that burning sense of injustice most of us have. We hate seeing someone wronged and we love it when karma pays the bad guys back. When they are about wrongly accused killers, the anger we feel is right there. It’s good to see justice and rebel against a sometimes broken system. So go ahead and indulge! You are perfectly normal…at least as any of us can be.
If You Love The "Peanuts" Gang This Is The Hotel For You
If you are a “Peanuts” fanatic, then it’s time to plan a trip to Kobe, Japan. That’s where there’s a new hotel completely themed for Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang. You’ll get your pick of one of 18 themed rooms, each showcasing a different comic from the legendary strip.
Three floors are themed "Imagine," "Happy," and "Love." The halls and rooms feature illustrations and famous quotes from the franchise including “Happiness is a warm puppy.” They nailed the details right down to the bottles of shampoo with Snoopy’s face on them, but you won't be sleeping on top of a dog house!
After relaxing in a room filled with memorabilia, you can hit the Peanuts Cafe and Peanuts Diner that includes Lucy's Cheesecake With Poppin Candy on the menu.
The hotel opened August 10, which is Snoopy’s birthday.

Wait Until The Last Week Of September To Buy Your iPhone
There’s a lot more to think about when buying an iPhone than you realize. As prices get higher and higher, the idea of a discount should make you salivate. That’s why Apple has a predictable habit.
We all know that the tech giant loves to introduce new models in September, but they also love to discount older models. Specifically, the last week of that month. If you hold on, the price will be $100 cheaper. That's a lot considering what phones go for.
Here’s another, lesser known trick that Apple likes; doubling the memory on older models during the discount period. So instead of getting say an iPhone 7 for $549 with only 16-gigs of memory, you’ll get 32-gigs for $449. Since iPhone memory can’t be expanded, that’s a big deal.
You can find deals everywhere, but pay close attention to what you get for your money.
