  • Taco Bell is set to roll out the Naked Egg Taco later this month, which actually turns a fried egg into a taco
  • Instead of a tortilla or taco shell, the latest menu item features a fried egg “taco,” stuffed with crispy potatoes, bacon or sausage, and cheese tucked inside
  • The Naked Egg Taco will be added to the menu on August 31st, but folks in select cities can get a preview early through their “Bell & Breakfast” events

Taco Bell has done it again. After turning a fried chicken breast into a taco for the Naked Chicken Chalupa, the Mexican fast food chain has found a new way to make tacos, this time for breakfast, and it’s bound to get folks into the store.

Taco Bell is set to roll out what they're calling the Naked Egg Taco later this month, which actually turns a fried egg into a taco. That’s right, instead of a tortilla or a taco shell, the latest menu item features a fried egg “taco,” stuffed with crispy potatoes, bacon or sausage, and cheese tucked inside.

The Naked Egg Taco is set to hit stores on August 31st, but for some folks in select cities they can get an early preview. The chain s hosting what they’re calling “Bell & Breakfast” events across the country this week, staring in New York tomorrow, with more set for August 25th in Laguna Beach, California, August 26th in Austin and August 27th in Chicago. But you can’t just walk into one of these special events and expect to be served. Those interested will actually have to snag a reservation using OpenTable.

Groomsman Steps In For Missing Bride In Pre-Wedding Photos

  • Couple Alistair Yeo and Devon Bickerton were supposed to scout their wedding location with their photographer but the bride was too busy
  • The photographer also wanted to take some photos in order to get an idea for the venue
  • Instead, the groom had a groomsman fill in for his bride, and the resulting pics are hilarious

While we may think brides wanting their hands in every aspect of their big day, when one bride was too busy for an important step, the groom found a hilarious replacement.

Couple Alistair Yeo and Devon Bickerton were supposed to scout their wedding location with their photographer, Chris Peach, who is also a good friend, but for some reason the bride was too busy, and sent her groom and the photographer to do it without her. What she didn’t realize? That Peach had planned to do some pre-wedding photos of the couple during the visit, in order “to get an idea of the venue, and how the groom and bride react to being photographed.”

But Yeo and Peach found a way around Bickerton’s absence and it was nothing short of brilliant. Instead of posing with his wife-to-be, Yeo took photos with his best man, Adam Green, who gladly played along with the prank on the bride, pretending to snuggle and gaze into his friend’s eyes.

  • As for the final product, Peach joked they were, “a little different from the usual pre-wedding shoot.” Check out the photos here.

Technology Is Wreaking Havoc On Our Sleep

  • The National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Health Index (SHI) shows that technology is playing a huge role in sleep, and not for the better
  • 48% of Americans say they use some sort of device in bed before they go to sleep, with those people averaging an overall SHI of 75 (out of 100), two points lower than the overall average of 77
  • 21% of people say that at least once in the past week they’ve checked their device after being awakened in the middle of the night, while 43% of people have actually sent a text or email after being awakened in the middle of the night

It’s no secret that most Americans don’t get enough good quality sleep, and according to a new report, our addiction to technology could be to blame. The National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Health Index (SHI) shows that technology is playing a huge role in sleep, and not for the better.

The report claims that 48% of Americans say they use some sort of device in bed before they go to sleep, with those people averaging an overall SHI of 75 (out of 100), two points lower than the overall average of 77. What’s more, their sleep quality SHI was five points lower than those who don’t use technology in bed at all (60 vs. 70).

But it’s not just folks using tech before bedtime that’s the problem. Believe it or not, 21% of people say that at least once in the past week they’ve checked their device after being awakened in the middle of the night. These people scored an SHI 10 points lower for overall sleep and 13 points lower for sleep quality than those who don’t check their tech. And they’re not just looking, with 43% of people actually sending a text or email after being awakened in the middle of the night.

  • And not getting enough or good quality sleep can certainly affect a person’s health. In fact, those who considered themselves to have good overall health scored significantly higher on the SHI for both overall sleep and sleep quality, as compared to those in poor health. What’s more, those who say they suffer from severe or very severe stress also had a worse overall and sleep quality SHI than those with little stress.

How What You Eat Is Affecting Whether Women Think You’re Attractive

  • A new study suggests folks smell like what they eat, and certain odors can attract or turn off the opposite sex
  • Women are more attracted to the smell of men who eat fruits and veggies, while they are turned off by guys who consume refined carbs, like bread and pasta
  • Big meat eaters had a more intense odor, but the smell didn’t particularly cause a big reaction either way in women

While men and women will spend lots of money on fancy perfumes and colognes to help attract the opposite sex, it turns out all anybody really has to do is watch what they eat.

In case you missed it, a new study suggests folks smell like what they eat, and certain odors can attract or turn off the opposite sex. For example, it turns out women are more attracted to the smell of men who eat fruits and veggies, while they are turned off by guys who consume refined carbs, like bread and pasta.

The study, out of Macquarie University in Australia, studied eating habits of a group of healthy men. They also judged the men’s skin using something called a spectrophotometer, which looks at hue of carotenoids, the plant pigments that are responsible for certain colored foods, which can indicate how much veggies and fruits are being eaten.

  • The men where then given new shirts to exercise in, and then those sweaty T-shirts were given to women to smell, and women consistently chose the guys who ate more veggies as the ones who smelled nicer. Interestingly, while big meat eaters had a more intense odor, the smell didn’t particularly cause a big reaction in women for the positive or negative.
